Balancing Mechanism Reporting System (BMRS)
ELEXON Ltd
The BMRS website provides near real time and historic data about the Balancing Mechanism which is used by the National Grid (System Operator) as a means of balancing power flows on to and off the electricity Transmission System in Great Britain.

DECC Coal Statistics
Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
DECC annual, quarterly and monthly coal statistics available to download. This page collects together all the DECC data sources that focus on coal, including historical coal statistics (1853-2012, decadal from 1853, annual from 1913)

DECC Electricity Statistics
Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
Annual, quarterly and monthly electricity statistics available to download. This page brings together all the DECC data sources that focus on electricity including historic data (1920-2012) and imports, exports and transfers of electricity

DECC Gas Statistics
Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
Annual, quarterly and monthly gas statistics available to download. This page brings together all the DECC data sources that focus on gas including historic gas production, consumption, and fuel input (1920-2012) and information about European gas flows

DECC Oil Statistics
Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
Annual, quarterly and monthly oil statistics available to download. This page brings together all the DECC data sources that focus on oil including changes to oil demand data, and crude oil and petroleum production, imports and exports. Includes historical data from 1890 onwards.

Elexon Portal
ELEXON Ltd
ELEXON Ltd is the Balancing and Settlement Code Company (BSCCo) defined and created by the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC and also known as the Code). ELEXON Ltd procures, manages and operates services and systems, which enable imbalance settlement of the wholesale electricity market and retail competition in electricity supply. The Portal gives access to the archives of historic SSP, SBP and NIV data which are updated automatically every day, and historical BMRS data via the BMRA Data Archive on this site (formerly TIBCO Relay Service).

Gas Consumption Data at Regional and Local Authority Level 2005 - 2007
Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
Estimates of gas consumption at regional (NUTS1) and local authority levels (NUTS4) using base data at meter point level from the re-structured gas distribution network. Data before 2005 was collected by the National Grid

Gas Demand Data by Postcode for 2001 to 2004
National Grid
Gas demand data by postcode sector and Local Distribution Zone that will enable the calculation of energy demand, emissions and Quality of Life indicators by any postcode specified area.

National Grid Electricity Ten Year Statement
National Grid
A forecast of electricity use in the UK in the next ten years, with different scenarios base on different assumptions about demand, supply and European interconnection.

National Grid Electricity Transmission Operational Data
National Grid
National Grid metered half hourly electricity demands including pump storage demand and generation. Data Explorer shows data relating to the commercial operation of the electricity transmission system. This data includes cost and volume forecasts and outcomes relating to balancing services, BSUoS, reserve, response and BSIS information.

National Grid Gas Ten Year Statement
National Grid
A forecast of gas use in the UK in the next ten years, with different scenarios based on different assumptions about supply, demand, legislative change and asset health.

Northern Ireland Electricity Transmission
SONI Ltd
SONI Ltd provide a suite of interactive tools for real-time monitoring of main elements that make up Northern Irelands Electricity Transmission System. Much of the data is near-live, updated every 15 minutes. Factors that can be inspected include wind generation, system demand, interconnection and CO2 emissions. Data can also be downloaded in one year tranches.

Ofgem Statistics (Electricity and Gas)
Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets)
Ofgem is the regulator for Britain’ s gas and electricity industries. The website has a range of datasets available for download, including Feed in Tariff Quarterly Statistcs, Sustainable Development Indicators and Wholesale energy market indicators for gas and electricity in Great Britain. These are available via the Publications Library, which has a filter for data and statistics.

Regional and local authority electricity consumption statistics: 2005 to 2014
Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
DECC has collected and compiled estimates of electricity consumption at regional (NUTS1) and local authority levels (LAU1 - formally NUTS 4) using aggregated Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN) readings throughout Great Britain as part of DECC s annual meter point electricity data exercise.

Regional and local authority gas consumption statistics: 2005 to 2014
Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)
DECC has collected and compiled estimates of gas consumption at regional (NUTS1) and local authority levels (LAU1 - formally NUTS 4) using data at meter-point level from the re-structured gas distribution network.

SP Energy Networks 'Flexible Networks' Electricity Distribution System Measurements
SP Energy Networks
The data set consists of measurements from network monitoring equipment which was installed in eight primary (33/11kV) and over 150 secondary (11kV/415V) substations in three test areas in St Andrews, East Fife; Whitchurch, Cheshire; and Ruabon, Wrexham. Monitored quantities include voltage, current, and derived quantities including real and reactive power and power quality. For certain primary substations, transformer temperature measurements are available for part of the study period, as are weather measurements.Supporting and contextual information is included in the data set: distribution network diagrams and models; detailed descriptions of the monitoring approach; charts showing daily availability of data by substation.
