Data deposited with us comes from the UKERC researcher community and other researchers who would like to use a domain respository. This is mediated by EDC staff. Metadata only records for other datasets related to our domain are created by EDC staff.
We routinely classify and release information on projects relating to the energy sector from the ESRC and EPSRC. The catalogue also has project information from a wide range of government and industry bodies which have been added on a one-off basis.
We routinely classify and release publications from the UKERC community, with a particular focus on those published by UKERC. Information comes from UKERC colleagues.
These are commissioned by the EDC from experts in the field. Each landscape provides a comprehensive account in a specfic topic of competencies and publicly funded activities in energy research, development and demonstration (RD&D) in the UK and covers UK participation in international activities. On average, these are updated every five to ten years.
These are added to the system by EDC staff when relevant ones become available.
The Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) was a £400m industry and UK government partnership in low carbon energy system planning and technology development, which was operational between 2007 and 2019. Its mission was to accelerate the development, demonstration and eventual commercial deployment of a focused portfolio of energy technologies, to facilitate energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help achieve energy and climate change goals.
The ETI Publications Catalogue contains the majority of the publically accessible ETI outputs – Journal Articles, Books, Book Chapters, Conference Papers, ETI Publications (working papers and reports), Presentations, and Calls for proposals. Each output has been linked to the relevant ETI project (in the projects catalogue), and if applicable linked to a dataset which has been lodged in the Data catalogue.
