Title EPSRC Manifest Energy Storage System (ESS) Calibration Test, Newcastle University
Data Location https://data.ukedc.rl.ac.uk/browse/edc/power/storage/MANIFEST/Newcastle/2019/December/
EDC Stored Dataset
Description The experiments were conducted using an Energy Storage System (ESS) in the Smart Grid laboratory at Newcastle University that includes transformers and converters interfacing to the grid, and various energy storage assets. The aim was to demonstrate the control of power flows between the grid and a 90kW / 2kWh supercapacitor bank. Tests were performed to control real power steps (short duration / high power, and long duration / low power) and reactive power steps of the grid-coupled converter. The corresponding power time-series at the supercapacitor bank terminals and the State of Charge (SoC) were recorded and plotted in the accompanying report.
