| Objectives | The research will lead to guidance that will ensure that major public transport schemes are modelled on a consistent basis using best practice. The research will also enable the assessment of optimism bias in demand forecasts. To provice guidance on: the design and use of public transport forecasting models; the capabilities of public transport assignment models; and the design and use of mode choice models. | |
| Abstract | -Proposal of a range of specimen model structures appropriate to different types of public transport scheme in different cicumstances. -Comprehensive review of the algorithms employed in public transport assignment models and the modelling and analysis facilities offered. -Set out best practice in the design and estimation of mode choice models, including the level of demand segmentation, data collection, the model formulation, and the estimation of behavioural parameters. | |
