Abstract:

<p>This document is a profile for the project titled 'Development of a 5^th Scale Tidal Turbine - SRTT'.</p> <p>The objectives for this project are: <bl> <li>To design and construct a 5^th scale engineering model of a free-floating tidal turbine</li> <li>To test the system under both real and controlled conditions</li> <li>To develop a numerical model of the system and calibrate from physical model test results</li> <li>The overall objective is to acquire sufficient information to allow the development of a full scale demonstrator system</li> </bl></br> <p>This project aims to design and construct a 5^th scale engineering model of a tidal turbine system. The system will be tested under controlled and actual conditions and in doing so a numerical model will be developed.
