Opus Title Energy Security in a Multipolar World: Closing Conference
Venue The Royal Society, London
Abstract

The 'Energy Security in a Multipolar World' research cluster comes to an end in December 2012 and we are both celebrating the achievements, and disseminating the conclusions, of this four year project at a final conference on 12th December 2012. The cluster is the RCUK energy security research network and has brought together a range of disciplines and organisations to do with energy policy, international relations, supply chains and beyond to develop new thinking on energy security.

The goals of the research cluster include stimulating inter-disciplinary networking and the development of a greater understanding of the dimensions of Britain's energy security issues by holding meetings, encouraging more in-depth research projects and developing collaborations.

The cluster has been extremely successful with 450 members from a range of academic, industry, governmental, third sector and research organisations. We have so far convened 22 meetings with over 700 attendees, with several more to come. The project is also producing a book and two special editions (on international relations and supply chains).

At the final conference we will present the findings of the cluster including presentations and workshops from a number of the ESMW book authors. The event will also bring together a number of national and international experts on energy security to discuss key issues, interconnections and policy implications.
