Abstract The focus of this submission is on the risks of disruption to electricity supplies, or power outages, where UKERC research provides insights. This response addresses questions 2, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 12, and covers the following issues: Changes to the electricity supply mix and their impacts on risk Changes to the use of electricity and how these affect resilience Regulatory and governance arrangements for ensuring reliable supplies Responses and contingency arrangements on the part of national and local government, and the role of individual households.
