Grey Literature

Identifying the problem and possible solutions

The EDC's mission is to provide 'access to energy information now and for the future'. For the current phase of UKERC funding, there is an increased EDC focus on created a curated grey literature collection. The team have undertaken a review of the energy landscape and identified areas of interest to engage with and add to the EDC collection.

The scope is UK publications from 2020 onwards which have not been formally published. We seek to make formal contacts with organisations/projects to be able to catalogue and publicise the output by making collections for these items.

The implementation plan needs to balance the benefit to the EDC grey literature collection with the staff effort needed to catalogue and classify the publications. Current priority is the other large scale consortia in the energy sector, building on the work we have done with ETI and CREDS.

EDC's involvement in this activity is funded though our UKERC grant.
