Objectives
Abstract Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDV) currently contribute 8% to UK CO2 emissions. This could be reduced by up to one third through development, implementation and vehicle integration of key sub-system and component technologies. The Heavy Duty Vehicle fleet which comprises of Heavy Goods Vehicles, Medium Goods Vehicles, Buses, Coaches, Construction machinery, Quarry machines, Agricultural equipment and Marine vessels, has been split into two main areas - Land vehicles and Marine vessels. This Phase 1 concept engineering project relates to the Marine vessels only and will run in parallel to the HDV Marine Full project and provide additional simulation and concept engineering activities.
