All content in the system can be searched from the main screen, apart from Visualisations. The search can be restricted to a specific content type using the “choose scope” drop down. The results can then be filtered by Energy Category (all records), Funding Source (only projects), Region (only projects) and Science/Technology sector (only projects); further keywords can also be used.

Results are classified by six of the content types: Data Catalogue, Projects Catalogue, Landscapes, ETI Publications, UKERC Publications and Roadmaps

For more specialised searches, use the Data catalogue, Project Catalogue or Publication options. Note that there are no additional searches for Roadmaps.

Simple and Advanced Searches

Available for the Data Catalogue, ETI publications, Landscapes, Project catalogue and UKERC publications

These searches enable the limiting of the search to specific metadata fields. They provide a method of being more precise and returning fewer results.

Browse

Available for the Data Catalogue, ETI publications, Landscapes, Roadmaps and UKERC publications.

This functionality enables you to see what is held in the EDC for a particular content type. Some browse functions enable to you to browse the whole collection, for ETI & UKERC publications you can browse by year, publication type and theme/energy category.

The project catalogue option for “projects for specific categories” is a specialised form of browse

Financial Summaries

For projects you can use the summaries of numbers and values to browse through a range of classifications, where the display shows the number of projects and/organisations and the values of the projects. These can be restricted to specific calendar or financial years.
