The Great British Bike to Work
Here’s a little visualisation created with the DataShine platform. It’s the DataShine Commute map, adapted to show online cycle flows, but all of them at once – so you don’t need to click on a location to see the flow lines. I’ve also added colour to show direction. Flows in both directions will “cancel out” … Continue reading The Great British Bike to Work20/05/16

PRESS RELEASE: Government deployment stats fail to accurately capture >50kW PV systems
- Jack Dobson-Smith
The STA continues to call on the Government to address serious flaws in the accuracy of its photovoltaic deployment data following the publication of its latest statistics, which state that solar deployment in 2019 was down by over 60MW compared to 2018, suggesting the slowest year for the industry since 2010. However, the statistics fail to accurately capture PV systems sized above 50kW, with no update to the ‘50 kW to ≤ 5 MW’ category since March 2019, and only one large-scale site added to ‘> 25 MW’ category in 2019, a 34.7MWp array completed in December by GRIDSERVE. ... \nRead More\nThe post PRESS RELEASE: Government deployment stats fail to accurately capture >50kW PV systems appeared first on Solar Trade Association.

PRESS RELEASE: Solar industry calls for net zero Budget
- Jack Dobson-Smith
The STA is calling on the government to deliver a budget that unlocks the potential of solar energy in the UK and empowers the transition to net zero greenhouse gas emissions. Exemption for solar from business rates, fair tax treatment, zero-interest loans for green home improvements and a commitment to procure renewable energy for the civic estate are the key recommendations made to the Treasury in the association’s budget representation. Additionally, a recommendation that the Government hold regular CfD auctions which include solar was adopted as policy last week. STA Chief Executive said: “This government has begun to ... \nRead More\nThe post PRESS RELEASE: Solar industry calls for net zero Budget appeared first on Solar Trade Association.
