BP Statistical Review of World Energy The BP Statistical Review of World Energy is the longest running compilation of global energy statistics available. It is published annually, and issues from all previous years are always available. Used for reference by the media, academia, world governments and energy companies, the Statistical Review is one of the most widely respected publications in the field of energy economics The Statistical Review has been published for 64 years and has expanded from a small typed paper document of less than ten pages to a comprehensive internet database that can be used for very detailed analysis. Behind the published data are more than 700,000 single data entries - and it is growing each day. The numbers contain the story of energy in the last half of the 20th century and the beginning of this one. They illustrate global transitions in the fuels we use and how we use them, and our preoccupations and concerns about this important element of the global economy. Building Performance Data The Building Data Exchange is a platform which unlocks one of the largest unexplored data sets in the Built Environment. It contains data collected through the InnovateUK Building Performance Evaluation programme, which analysed how well real buildings performed - it looked at over 100 projects over a 4 year period 2010-2014. Performance data was collected during both early occupation (the first six months post construction and handover), and in use occupation for a period of two years. This resulted in a final report for each project. The Building Data Exchange, created by the Digital Catapult, makes this data open and accessible to the built environment community, digital innovators, designers and entrepreneurs. Carbon Trust Advanced Metering Trial (2004-2006)
Restricted Access: See Rights
Half hourly gas and electricity (and water) consumption data ( not all utilities were monitored at every site) gathered during the Carbon Trusts Advanced Metering for SMEs project (2004-2006). The data was collected from a portfolio of sites by seven independent metering contractors. Sites are characterized by the number of employees, the geographical location, and geographical region. (Please acknowledge The Carbon Trust when making any use of this data)
Meter readings are available for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).The majority of meter readings are for electricity; monitoring of other utilities (gas and water) was available on some sites. Unless otherwise indicated data sets are for electricity; where multiple meters were deployed they are designated (e) for electricity, (g) for natural gas, and (w) for water. In a minority of cases metering on the site was split between several meters: (e1), (e2), etc. The absence of a link indicates some problems in matching the site identifier with the collected data set.

English Housing Survey 2012: Fuel Poverty Dataset The English Housing Survey, 2012: Fuel Poverty Dataset is derived from the 2012 EHS database created by the DCLG. This database is constructed from fieldwork carried out between April 2011 and March 2013. The midpoint of this period is April 2012, which can be considered as the reference date for the fuel poverty dataset. Guidance on use of EHS data provided by DCLG should also be applied to the fuel poverty dataset. The dataset is the outcome of analysis conducted to produce estimates of the number of households living in fuel poverty in England in 2012. Previously, a household was defined as being fuel poor if they spent more than 10% of their income on fuel. Department of Energy and Climate Change EDC0000027 England

One-Minute Resolution Domestic Electricity Use Data (2008-2009) Electricity data measured at one-minute resolution in 22 dwellings over two complete years (2008 and 2009). Each dwelling was fitted with a single meter covering electricity use of the whole dwelling, however, the one-minute resolution allows the switching of individual domestic appliances to be observed. The meters conform to BS EN 62053-21:2003 and measure true active power (taking proper account of the voltage). Options for a Low Carbon Future Summary of analyses of options for a low carbon economy (includes MARKAL model results by Future Energy Solutions). This report contains the results of a study, undertaken on behalf of DTI, DEFRA and the PIU, to develop a range ofbottom-up estimates of carbon dioxide emissions from the UK energy sector up to 2050, and to identify the technical possibilities and costs for the abatement of these emissions. Three levels of abatement by 2050 have been considered: a 60% reduction relative to emissions in 2000 - approximating to the level considered by the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution (RCEP 2000) - plus 45% and 70% reductions relative to 2000 levels. Options for a Low Carbon Future: Review of Modelling Activities and an Update This report summarises the modelling work undertaken for the 2003 Energy White Paper using the MARKAL energy model. It describes the scenarios andsensitivities used in the modelling work. It concludes that there is a variety of carbon abatement options across the energy supply sector, in improving energy efficiency and across the transport sector. Total abatement costs are uncertain and vary considerably by scenario andsensitivity but are unlikely to have a significant impact on GDP growth.Innovation and technical progress are key elements in reducing the costs ofcarbon abatement. The report compares the costs from the MARKAL model with those from a range of other models. Most of the studies suggest GDP losses of under 3% in 2050. It looks at the different types of economic models used to analyse abatement costs and the reasons why they might produce varying cost estimates Department for Trade and Industry (DTI), now BIS EDC0000122 United Kingdom

Survey of English Housing (SEH) The Survey of English Housing (SEH) was a continuous annual survey series, which began in 1993 and covered a sample of 20,000 responding households each year. The survey provided key housing data on tenure, owner occupation and the social rented sector, and regular information about the private rented sector. It was a multi-purpose housing survey which provided a comprehensive range of basic information on households and their housing and full information on the private rented sector. The SEH was subsumed into the English Housing Survey (EHS) in 2008. Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) EDC0000040 England

UK Electricity Pool Demand and Price (1990-2001)
Restricted Access: See Rights
The Electricity Pool operated from 1st April 1990 to 26th March 2001, controlling the trading of electricity within England and Wales. The Electricity Pool data contains system demand and transmission losses plus the price information (/MWh) within the trading pool, comprising the three main prices: Pool purchase price (PPP), the basis of payments to generators; Pool selling price (PSP), the basis of payments by suppliers; and system marginal price (SMP), the highest offered price for any generating set scheduled by the Pool to run before system constraints are taken into account. The Electricity Pool system was replaced by the New Electricity Trading Arrangements (NETA/BETTA) from 27 March 2001. UK NAEI - National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory The NAEI provides historic and projected emission estimates of a range of air quality pollutants and GHGs from all man-made emission sources in the UK, from 1970 to thepresent day, across a wide range of sectors including energy, industry, transport, waste, land-use change and agriculture. For each pollutant, the NAEI provides a complete picture of emissions from sources. This enables tracking of trends over time to provideinsight into GHG emissions, transboundary air pollution (acidification, eutrophication, ground-level ozone and fine particulate matter (PM)) and local airquality, and their effects on health. The NAEI includes emissions estimates of the following groups of pollutants: GHGs - carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4),nitrous oxide (N2O) and fluorinated hydrocarbons (the so-called ‘F-gases’); acidification and eutrophication pollutants and precursors to transboundary air pollution- sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx),ammonia (NH3), non-methane volatile organiccompounds (NMVOC) and carbon monoxide (CO); priority local air quality pollutants - PM (PM 10, PM 2.5 and PM 0.1), benzene, 1-3 butadiene and black carbon. UKEOF Environmental Observation Catalogue The UKEOF Catalogue provides access to information about environmental observations. It contains over 2200 metadata records of environmental observation activities undertaken and funded by public and third sector organisations. However, many of these records describe programs or activities, rather than actual datasets; to find dataset metadata, use the Advanced Search and select “Data Series” as “Purpose of Collection”. In 2016, there were 190 actual dataset metadata records in the catalogue. Data cannot be downloaded from this site - contact information is provided for the holding organisation.
